You can buy a bike, attach a cart to it, put a used gas cylinder in it, buy chicken from a neighbor without any certificates for meat, and sell it right on the bike in the middle of the street, after frying it on a gas burner. Of course, without gloves. Gloves are an extra expense, and the business is very competitive, the minimum margin does not allow you to spend money on such luxuries as disposable gloves.

In general, I will not retell all the features of Thai laws and my biography, the story begins at the end of 2017. My wife and I were bored, plus we were financially broke after traveling and building a house.

From time to time we ride around the country. I love watching waterfalls, there are a lot of them.

The magazine was then just launched and did not bring income. I would like to have some additional source of income. We thought about what to do, and decided that we should open a business. So the wife will be in business (work is tight here, it is forbidden for foreigners without a work visa, and Thais all get plus or minus the same: 8000-20000 baht. With our money, this is 16-40 thousand rubles. In general, I wanted to attach my wife so that this would bring some money to the house, and her work would not oppress her, and there would be prospects for payback and expansion.

We found an inexpensive Chinese waffle franchise. We went to study. The waffles didn't go straight away. We rented an unfortunate place where there were no sales at all. I had to move out of there urgently and give a deposit. The business started with a loss. We moved to Jomtien night market. There was traffic, but the place is also not very good, the merchants there barely make ends meet.

I see no reason to retell in text what I have already said in the video blog, so I will insert the entire story. I will say in addition that I did not participate physically in the trade (see the paragraph about the immigration police). I was engaged in calculations, helped to transport, bring, buy, which also took a lot of time and effort, but was not a violation.

In general, waffles sold poorly, and we decided to supplement the assortment with cakes. And then sloths. And jelly. We even bought a popcorn machine. And they opened a second point in the morning market.

The night market is focused on tourists, and half of the year, when there are few tourists, traders simply survive. Therefore, this model worked for only one season.

The main reason for the closure? Overwork.

Due to the fact that when hiring a seller, the profit came to naught (and due to their own stubbornness). In the off-season, trading did not make sense, it was clear from the declining profits. In general, I did not drive my wife and decided to close the business.

I looked at my long-suffering plate now. Seems like a plus. In total, we earned 77 thousand baht, or about 150 thousand rubles for 4 months of the season from December to March. By the standards of Russian regions, this may even seem like a good result. But this is for the work of two people seven days a week, half the time in two shifts (morning / night market). And the equipment did not have time to fully pay off.

We sold the equipment for next to nothing. Partially, I took into account depreciation, but still there was an additional loss on the equipment. Waffle machines, for example, went for 1,000 baht, although we bought them as part of a franchise for 20-something thousand. So that financial results close to zero. In general, the cat cried real profits there, but this is a cool life experience. It was interesting.
