Must know: technological process of extraction of oil, gas and other minerals; well design; technological process and types of work on testing wells; technical specification and rules for the operation of a tractor-lift, a mobile unit, the mechanisms used, devices, traveling systems; technological process and types of capital, current repairs, well testing methods; brands and grades of fuels and lubricants; fundamentals of electrical engineering and plumbing in the scope of work performed; ways to repair the engine, transmission and running gear of lifting winches.

During underground and major repairs at wells of the 1st category of complexity and sampling (testing) of wells up to 1500 m deep inclusive - 5th category;

during underground and major repairs at wells of the II category of complexity and testing (testing) of wells with a depth of more than 1500 m, directional wells, regardless of their depth and wells with complicated geological conditions - 6th category;

during underground and overhaul repairs made from lifting installations with a carrying capacity of 80 tons and more - 7th category.
