How did you achieve success in life. How to succeed in life: advice from great people. Individual Performance Curve

Everyone dreams of achieving something worthwhile in life and business. How many books have been written in the world on the topic “how to succeed”, how many articles have been published… Probably, everyone understands that just by reading a few motivational books, success will not come by itself. To do this, you need to act and move towards your goal. However, before that, you need to form in your head the image of the very ideal that you are going to become.

In psychology, this technique is common: if you want to become a person with the right set of qualities, behave as if you already have them. Think as if you are already that person. The same can be applied to the desire to be successful.

We have put together a few tips to help you become successful, wealthy and happy:

  • Never let failure stop you. Even the most capable people don't get much right the first time. Keep trying until you get what you want. With each attempt, you are one step closer to your goal.
  • Don't put off your goal until later. Don't expect to become smarter, more talented, or more savvy on your own - start taking action now. Only by doing something can you become better. Wean yourself from inaction and waiting for "better times."
  • If there is a problem, think not about how it could happen, but about how to solve it. Don't let obstacles take your time. Look for ways to overcome it in a short time.
  • Learn positive thinking. Settle only positive thoughts in your head, try to experience only positive emotions. Negative thinking will never lead you to your goal, and the right thoughts can bring even more luck, even more positive and success into your life. No matter how it sounds, but it is.
  • Become a sociable person. Be open to interacting with the people around you. Share your experience and learn from the experience of others. Help people, if it is in your power, and you will feel the return from them. The ability to communicate with people is necessary not only for establishing relationships in business, but also for a comfortable inner feeling.
  • Find time to exercise. Physical activity will only benefit anyone. The minimum you can do is to do morning exercises or jog. By strengthening your muscles, you strengthen your will to win.
  • Develop different sides of your personality. Having a hobby is great, but don't get hung up on one thing. Keep a balance between different areas of your life.
  • Forget the word laziness. Laziness is one of the most harmful human habits. If you allow laziness to get the better of you even once, you will go deeper and deeper into this dangerous state called "I'll do something later." There is not much time in the day, is it really worth spending it on meaningless activities?
  • Plan your day and week. Make a list of necessary things to do tomorrow or within a certain time, and then you will definitely not miss anything important.
  • Be disciplined. At school, your discipline was monitored by teachers, but now you have to take care of yourself. Become a strict teacher for yourself. If you violated discipline - punish yourself, if you spent the working week with the greatest benefit - then encourage. Punishments and rewards can come in the form of anything from an extra treat for dinner to forgoing Saturday entertainment.
  • Choose your surroundings carefully. You should be surrounded by smart, reliable and positive people. People you can trust to give you wise advice at the right time.
  • Sometimes give in to your intuition. It happens that unconscious thinking itself directs us to Right way. Trust your intuition, but rationalism should not be turned off either.
  • Develop your creativity. Exists great amount options to discover previously unknown abilities and talents. The ability to think creatively will allow you to find ways out of the most non-standard situations that you will have to face.

  • Stick to proper nutrition. Drink clean water, eat more vegetables and fruits. Fast food and preservatives clog your body. This leads to a decrease in stress resistance and performance.
  • Spend a lot of time in nature, breathing fresh air. If you have a choice between an evening in a smoky bar and a picnic in nature, feel free to choose the latter. Spend more time with your family.
  • Be the best at what you do. Having chosen a profession that you like, do not stop developing yourself in this direction. Make people say about you: "Yes, he is an expert in this."
  • Unleash your talents. Maybe a talented artist or composer is dying in you? Try to do something that you have not done before, and perhaps you will reveal the hidden sides of yourself, which will become a real inspiration for your future achievements.
  • Enjoy life, no matter what happens. Be grateful for everything you have and appreciate every minute you live.

How to succeed is a question many people have asked themselves. We want to be successful in business, education, family life, in many large and small undertakings, but we do not know the truly effective to achieve the desired. In this article, we’ll talk about 17 incredible success rules that apply in any situation, for any task. We can say that they are universal, and the practicality of these rules has been tested by more than one generation of successful and wealthy people. If you are a reader of our column, then these 17 rules will not be a new discovery for you. After all, almost every millionaire we wrote about, one way or another in his lectures, interviews, speeches, spoke about some of the rules, focused on it. We can say that this article contains all the wisest thoughts, all the experience of several generations, having understood which, you can radically change your life today.

Solve problems right away

The first rule of success is that you must solve all problems as they come, and immediately, without delay. After all, problems tend to accumulate imperceptibly, and one fine day a whole bunch of unresolved tasks will fall on you, which can be raked for many months. Remember that successful people have everything structured, everything is clear and understandable. You must always act confidently, quickly, decisively. No extra swinging.

work for yourself

The second rule of success is: "You should create jobs, not take them." Get out of your head the idea that you can achieve success by working for someone. Just not in our country. Nobody appreciates the workers, and success is hard to achieve if you give your knowledge, effort and time to someone else's project. Work for yourself, do what you love, develop yourself, and only when work becomes a high-paying hobby can you truly become successful.

You are above everything

Personal interests, desires and aspirations should be a priority, above all else. Your devotion is unlikely to be appreciated by your superiors. Working for a company, you will bring profit to the owners, and at the moment when you become financially unprofitable, you will be disposed of without a grain of salt. The sooner you start putting your own goals ahead of the rest, the sooner you will succeed.

Set high goals

Constantly raise the bar on your income. Just started a business, made your first $1,000, and don't stop there. Set a goal next month to double the amount, in half a year to earn 10 times more, and in a year to reach a level 25 times higher than earnings in the first month. Constantly stimulate yourself, be hungry for new knowledge, new goals, new victories.

Chat

Acquisition of new acquaintances, acquisition of useful contacts, development of partnerships and friendships - this is another important component of the overall success of your business. Try to communicate as much as possible, take part in various symposiums, forums, exhibitions. As they say, show yourself, and look at others. Closure and fear of communication is the main enemy of success.

Environment first

"Tell me who your friends are, and I'll tell you who you are" - this phrase has an incredible deep meaning. If you want to be successful, rich, happy, then you must surround yourself with such people, communicate with them, adopt knowledge and visions of the world. Run from those who do not believe in you, who say that you are worthless and will never achieve your goals. As a rule, such people are themselves losers, and communication with them will not bring anything useful. Your friends should be optimists and winners in life.

Don't Forget Responsibility

Remember that as soon as you start earning more, as soon as you start your own business, hire a team, then a burden of responsibility will fall on your shoulders. It will be different: responsibility to employees, to whom you give hope for a long and stable job, to partners, to society, and, in the end, responsibility to yourself. Don't be afraid to be responsible for the outcome of your actions.

Do it here and now

Are you constantly short of money? This is a powerful argument in order to think about the beginning own business. And if there is no money at all, then the case needs to be opened right today. Do not sit with your hands folded and hung your nose, look for ways out of this situation, try to think broader, find interesting solutions and unusual answers. Believe me, there are always dozens of opportunities around us, you just need to learn to see them and choose the best ones for you. The main thing is the desire to do something, but the opportunity itself will be found.

Passive income

Another step towards success is passive income. As Rockefeller said: “I would rather get 1% of the work of 100 people than 100% of my work.” Strive to create a company that will make a profit with little intervention from you. Then there will be more free time for new things, new goals and success.

Invest

A lot of successful people are investors. Having earned on any one project, they prefer not to create a new one, but rather invest successful startup. If you see a prospect in some business, then take a chance and invest in it. Success comes to decisive and risky, and where else can you get such qualities if not in investing.

Find a good incentive

An incentive is what will make you move, develop, reach new heights. Articles can be a good incentive various people, tips and advice from millionaires, or . You will find all the necessary information in the sections of our website.

Ask yourself questions

Very often a person cannot achieve success, because he does not know what to do, what to strive for, why all this. Try to ask yourself questions: Who am I? What can I do and how unique is my knowledge? What am I here for? What will I do if I earn a lot of money? What do I want to achieve? Try to answer the questions as honestly as possible, do not deceive yourself. The path to success begins with inner answers.

Dream and strive

You must have a dream. It is impossible to live, develop and reach the heights without having a dream, without seeing what you need to strive for. The dream will become an incentive that will make you wake up every morning, do work, go to bed late, not get enough sleep, but know that you are not doing all this in vain, that in the end you will achieve what you dream about.

Help others

Have you noticed that many successful people are happy to help others, are patrons, donate money to charity, open their own funds. Someone may say that they became so after they achieved success, but I assure you that this is not so. If a person is kind, open, ready to respond to the request of others and help in a difficult situation, then fate will respond in kind. Help others, and they will help you in difficult times.

Keep a success diary

In one of our previous articles, attention has already been focused on the fact that it is worth keeping a success diary. Write down all your plans and tasks in it, and after achieving them, describe the result, praise yourself and set new, more serious goals. As a rule, we can remember the negative for a longer time, and if there comes a moment when you give up, a bad mood floods in and the desire to work disappears completely, then take your success diary, re-read everything, remember the victories and achievements, at what cost they got, what emotions you experienced. Believe that the blues will instantly disappear.

You did it, set an ambitious goal and achieved it. But the first excitement passed, and there was an unpleasant feeling that it could have been better or that more could have been done. You tell yourself that everything is fine, that you should be happy, but you feel disgusting. How to break the vicious circle of eternal dissatisfaction?

1. Stop

Drop things, take time out. Stay with yourself for as long as you need: a moment, an hour or a day. Don't do anything. This is the first step to get out of the abyss of constant dissatisfaction. Timeouts are best spent in nature, without a smartphone.

2. Breathe

How do you breathe? Can you take a few deep belly breaths? Compare breathing in a calm and "busy" state. Deep breathing- an effective and quick means of resetting: inhale slowly through the nose, imagining that the stomach - Balloon which you fill with air.

3. Listen to yourself

Capture the moment when a feeling of dissatisfaction arises. Are you silencing him by being distracted by work, food, or something else? We are not used to listening. It takes silence to hear, and we have a lot of thoughts in our heads. The breathing exercise described above will sharpen your intuition and help you understand what you really want. It needs to be done for 3-5 minutes.

4. Dream

Allow yourself to be a child again. Draw 12 squares on the sheet for the number of months in a year. Use colored felt-tip pens to write what you want to do each month.

5. Focus

Avoid multitasking - you feel like you're efficient, but it's mind-numbing. Set priorities: what is important at the moment? Make time for your child or take on a project? If you focus on one task, you will get more done and experience less stress.

6. Take action

To paraphrase a classic, we can say that knowledge is a potential power. Knowledge without action is useless. Think about what you can do now to get a little closer to your goal. Small steps lead to big results.

7. Communicate

Once you've sorted out your dreams and desires, look for people who have excelled in the areas you want to succeed in. Read about them and what they write, understand what they do differently. Try to get to know them live or online.

8. Share

Talk about what you create, with whom you communicate, realistically. Choose a platform where you will share your impressions, knowledge, and experience. I love Instagram, but I also do podcasts, host webinars, perform on stage, and meet friends.

9. Celebrate

When was the last time you celebrated something? If you are not happy with success, it was probably a long time ago. One of my favorite ways to celebrate is to turn on the music and dance. I also like romantic dinners with my husband, girly gatherings with my daughter and Sunday outings with friends. Treat yourself to a fragrant bath, a walk in the park, or a weekend getaway. You deserve!

10. Start over

Use these strategies again to remember what's important to you and achieve what you really want. Stop striving for success for the sake of success, listen to yourself. Answers to the questions "Who am I?" and "What do I want?" are within us, it remains to hear them.

about the author

Good habits are the foundation of wealth. They distinguish a successful wealthy person from a loser. In the latter, bad habits prevail. Think about what's stopping you? Awareness is the first step to change.

In his book, Tom Corley suggests taking a sheet of paper and dividing it into two parts. In the left column, list your negative habits, and in the right column, list how you can change them. For example, yes.

»
Work on following each item from the list on the right for 30 days (), and you will be surprised how your life will change.

2. Set goals regularly

Successful people are driven by their goals. There are always unconquered peaks in front of them. They plan their day in detail.

If you want to succeed too, think ahead. Set yourself goals for the day, week, month and. But a goal without a plan is like a boat without oars. Develop an algorithm that will help you achieve your goals. Take responsibility for your actions and inactions.

3. Identify Root Causes

If you know why you want to achieve wealth and success, you will get there faster. Setting goals is important. But even more important is why you chose this particular goal. Why is success so important to you? Is this your deepest inner need, or perhaps the fear of disappointing your parents? Why do you strive to earn a lot of money? Is this your mission as the head of the family, or is it a fashion imposed from the outside? Think about it.

4. Get Things Done

The truth is as old as the world: do not put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Everyone has fears “What if it doesn’t work out?”, “It’s too difficult,” and so on. But successful people overcome them and bring important things to the end, no matter what it takes.

Tom Corley says that for wealthy people this happens automatically. As soon as there was a temptation to put something off until later, the “Do it now!” light bulb lights up in my head. Repeat these words to yourself, no matter how boring and difficult the task.

5. Do the maximum and even a little more

To do something, if only quickly and if only they fell behind - the approach of losers. Successful and wealthy people always do even a little more than what is required of them. If you have to stay at work for this - no problem! Putting in more effort is easy!

Little note. To be given to work at 200%, it must not just suit. She must be dearly loved. So find something to your liking.

6. Work on relationships with people

Successful people are by no means egocentric. Their focus is always on other people. Some even set aside special days for meetings with friends and partners.

Networking should not be underestimated. Successful people constantly expand their network of contacts and provide small gratuitous services to acquaintances.

The wider the circle of your acquaintances, the more names and positions you have to keep in mind. To avoid confusion, use special .

7. Talk less, listen more

“God gave man two ears and one mouth so that he would listen more and speak less,” says folk wisdom. When you listen, you learn. Listen carefully to what people say, it will help you out more than once.

8. Find a soul mate

It is difficult to say how fair the saying "Tell me who your friend is ..." is, but the environment affects a person - this is a fact. Do you want to become rich and successful? Try to make friends with someone who has already succeeded, or just find someone with whom your plans for life coincide. You will be able to share experiences and cheer each other up in difficult moments.

9. Find a mentor

Not everything can be learned from books. Therefore, many successful people have mentors whom they observe and consult with. By adopting the experience of an already accomplished person, you can progress twice as fast. In addition, communication with him disciplines you.

10. Save

Corley writes that successful people invest 10 to 20% of their income. This is one of the most effective ways to save money. Other secrets the richest people planets for capital increase, read.

11. Live within your means

Rich is not the one who earns a lot, but the one who spends wisely. Often a person puts himself in a financially difficult position when he begins to live beyond his means. Do you need an expensive foreign car on credit if you live paycheck to paycheck?

Organize your spending and do it if you want to change your life.

12. Keep improving

Successful people are constantly working on themselves. Read a lot and learn new things all the time. But most importantly, they do not waste time on something that does not bring them closer to the goal.

One of the highest paid business coaches in America, Brandon Burchard, that we spend too much time on useless activities, as a result, we feel an acute shortage of time. This is true. Time is too valuable a resource. And spend it on something that does not bear fruit in terms of welfare (computer games, disputes in in social networks etc.) is a crime.

Self-improvement is like a needle and thread: the baggage of knowledge and skills that trails behind you moves you forward. Work on yourself every day. It is not easy, but the wider the horizon, the more chances to be realized.

13. Read daily

At least 30 minutes a day. Reading in modern world - competitive advantage. The more you read, the more you know. The more you know, the more you will achieve.

It will help to introduce reading into your daily routine.

14. Constantly improve your skills

Progress is getting better at what you do every day. Improve your professional skills and expand your knowledge base daily. Eventually you will become an expert. And they are well paid, they are respected. So stay on course until you succeed.

15. Give yourself a "digital holiday"

Dedicate such days to yourself (some courses or maybe a movie), walks (you can even go on a mini-trip) and communicate with loved ones (they may miss you).

16. Keep track of your health

The rich and successful tend to exercise and eat right. Moreover, leading a healthy lifestyle is as natural for them as taking a shower in the morning. It's simple: physical activity and a balanced diet give them the energy to achieve business goals. Are you taking care of yourself?

17. Develop a sense of proportion

To know the measure means to live in balance and harmony. Be moderate in everything: work, food, physical activity, alcohol consumption, Internet surfing and so on.

Harmonious people attract others. They are easier to find business partners, persuade investors and move up the career ladder.

18. Be an optimist

Remember the saying “Optimists spin the globe, and pessimists run alongside and shout:“ Where is this world heading to? ”? The world belongs to enthusiastic and energetic optimists. These people seek (and find) the good in the environment and see opportunities even in difficulties.

The information field is crammed with negativity. Know how to filter information and cut off what can unsettle you. Instead, fill the feed with things that will educate and develop you.

19. Manage your thoughts

Dominating your thinking and emotions is the destiny of successful people, not wizards.

Replaying negative scenarios in your head is unlikely to succeed. Fear and doubt inevitably lead to failure. Say “stop” to yourself when you catch yourself having bad thoughts. Successful people are constantly busy creating, and they simply have no time to cultivate negativity.

20. Conquer your fears

Being afraid is okay. Every person is afraid of something or worries about something. Only losers allow their fears to lead them, and successful people over anxieties.

Write down on a piece of paper the fears that are hindering your success and think about how you can overcome them.

21. Don't give up

Difficulties on the way to the goal are inevitable. But no matter how hard it is, don't give up. In order not to give up on the way to your goal, even in the most difficult moments, there is at least.

Setbacks may force you to correct course, but they should not stop you from moving forward.

I'm a businessman. I have several profitable online businesses in the fitness industry. I work a strict schedule from 9 to 5 so that I can spend a lot of time with my family.

Considering that many of us work 80 hour days, I know this may sound like sacrilege.

It took me a long time to realize that the daily "rush" will not lead me to the desired goal. I decided to stop this fuss and set my priorities right. I determined what is important for me in my work, how and when I spend my free time, and I realized what makes me happy.

Result? I have been successful in business and High Quality life.

Let me back up a bit. A few years ago I was a personal trainer who created good business in this domain. I charged $97 an hour and had no end of clients.

This is everyone's dream personal trainer. And so I thought it was mine.

I was young and felt invincible as the cash flowed like an endless chocolate fountain.

But I was physically and mentally exhausted. Emotional bankruptcy instead of a “fat” bank account is such a compromise.

Looking back, I understand why. I worked 14 hours a day for many years. I coached and attracted clients. I didn't have time for anything else.

My friends were fellow coaches and clients. Young woman? Ha, not today.

I thought that once I made an indefinite amount of money, life would be better.

I wanted a family and I knew that I didn't want to be "that" dad who would never be around. I wanted to be a friend who knows what's going on in the lives of his loved ones. A husband who comes home on time.

It wasn't the life I wanted. And I decided that I would no longer return to the way of life that I led. And unconsciously I started doing business, which led me to success.

To help myself make the right decisions, I developed a series of "cognitive filters." These filters are objective questions that I ask myself when I want to ask myself. They help me say “yes” or, more importantly, say “no” with confidence.

I hope these filters help you cut distractions from your life as well.

Filter 1: "Will this really affect my business, personal life, or society?"

I say no to almost all performances at events, even if they are willing to pay me many thousands of dollars. The money won't affect my business, but it will hurt my personal life. And I, speaking at another event dedicated to entrepreneurship or fitness, will not do anything for the greater good.

Filter 2: "Am I acting emotionally or irrationally right now?"

In that case, I will never say yes. No matter what, I calm down, count to ten, and honestly ask myself this question. Thanks to this, I can quickly get rid of the situation and understand what is important to me. And most importantly, without unnecessary emotions.

Filter 3: "Is what I'm doing going to make a difference?"

If you are new to business, you do not need to be distracted by the flow of information that surrounds us. You need to spend your time building a better product, improving your service, and improving everything you do.

Filter 4: "Will it allow me to be more at work or with the people I love?"

Knowing when to say no is the most important business asset I have.

If something doesn't help me improve my work or spend more time with my loved ones, I say no.
