At the moment, Sonic is the mascot of SEGA (until 1990 the mascot was Alex Kidd) and the main competitor of the Nintendo mascot - Mario.

Appearance and design

Over the course of many appearances in games and other media, Sonic's design has undergone some changes, however, compared to other characters in the series, they have been rather minor.

Appearance

Sonic again, together with Tails, frees the inhabitants of the island's animals, chasing Eggman and collecting the Chaos Emeralds. Since then, Sonic entrusts Tails with piloting his plane, and the team on it finds Eggman in his air fortress called Wing Fortress. As they approach the base, Eggman fires a laser at the plane, and Tails, short of reaching the fortress, makes an emergency landing on the island. Sonic manages to get to the fortress and tracks down Eggman. After defeating his next controlled machine, Robotnik retires on his shuttle to the Death Egg, which, apparently, has already taken off and is functioning. Tails picks up the hedgehog on the repaired plane and sends him after Eggman to the flying station.

On the Death Egg, Sonic faces a copy of himself, but not as good as Metal Sonic - Silver Sonic. After defeating the replica, Giant Mech is next, a giant combat-controlled robot with Robotnik's face. With difficulty defeating him, Sonic, using the power of the Chaos Emeralds, turns into Super Sonic and leaves the exploded base, where Tails meets him on a Tornado.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Sonic and Tails on Angel Island

Quite a lot of time has passed, after which Sonic and Tails go to Angel Island, known to many for the fact that the island is able to soar in the sky. Tails discovers an energy similar to the Chaos Emeralds on the island. Sonic retells the story of the island to Tails, and lo and behold, they are on their way to it. In addition, the heroes know that the Death Egg destroyed by Sonic also fell on the island. The fall caused Angel Island to stop floating and fall into the ocean.

Barely setting foot on the island, Sonic is attacked by Knuckles the Echidna, the island's lone defender. He takes away the Chaos Emeralds collected by Sonic and hides. A little later, Sonic and Tails find out that Eggman is also on the island. In addition, he again takes the animals into his capsules, and also makes his robots out of them. Sonic and Tails continue to traverse the Angel Island zones, fighting Eggman and getting tricked by Knuckles (Knuckles was actually tricked by Eggman). The doctor assured the echidna that this couple was going to steal the Master Emerald - the same stone, similar in energy to the Chaos Emeralds and holding the island in the sky).

Episode 2

After completing this level, Knuckles will attack the team, demanding to give the Emeralds to him. Sonic fundamentally disagrees with him and enters into a fight, during which he drops them, after which Eggman immediately picks them up and re-feeds the monster named Chaos, and now, he absorbed the power of the four Emeralds. As it turned out, Knuckles again deceived Eggman, saying that Sonic was also collecting pieces from the Master Emerald, thereby directing them against each other.

After trying to stop Chaos, Sonic watches with Tails and Knuckles as Eggman retreats to his flying fortress called Egg Carrier. Knuckles goes about his business, and Sonic, along with Tails, on the Tornado plane, begin to chase the departed Egg Carrier to stop Eggman. Everything goes badly: Egg Carrier opens fire on the plane and the team crashes. Sonic crashes onto the beach at Station Square and some time later, he discovers Amy Rose, who takes him to Twinkle Park. After a walk in the park, Amy is kidnapped by Eggman's robot and taken away with him, and Sonic goes to look for Amy all over the city.

As it turns out, the robot took Amy along with it to the Egg Carrier, and through Red Mountain, Sonic begins chasing the flying fortress. at the end of the journey, Tails picks up the hedgehog on a new plane, Tornado 2 and the heroes go on a second air chase, this time successfully. After landing, they are looking for Eggman, who specially paved the way to himself through the outer side of the base, the most dangerous. However, Sonic finds Amy, fights the E-100 Elite series robot, and again encounters Chaos, who has already absorbed six Emeralds. Having dealt with him, Sonic is removed from the base, after which the fortress breaks down and falls.

Upon landing, Sonic studies Chaos in the temple of the Mystical Ruins, after which he goes to the Eggman ground base, where the scientist himself retired. After defeating Robotnik, Sonic returns to the Mystic Ruins and celebrates with Tails.

In the final story, Sonic takes on a super form to defeat Perfect Chaos and gains the upper hand.

Sonic Adventure 2

At the very beginning of the Hero story in SA2, Sonic is arrested by government agents and taken to Prison Island, believing him to be the kidnapper of the Chaos Emerald, which was stolen not so long ago. Sonic manages to sneak out of the helicopter, but soon he meets the source of his problems. It was also a hedgehog who introduced himself as Shadow. He had a Chaos Emerald in his hand. Sonic was surprised that the hedgehog could use Chaos Control with only one Emerald. The black hedgehog moves away from the meeting point, and immediately Sonic is surrounded by G.U.N. soldiers.

Arrest Sonic

The next day, Sonic frees Amy, who has arrived on the island with Tails. Sonic escapes from the island and after a while, in the jungle, he again encounters Shadow. There is a fight, and Sonic accidentally overhears from the conversation between Shadow and Robotnik that there is a detonator on the island for 10 minutes, and after this time it will explode. Sonic manages to catch up with Tails and Amy, after which they are removed from the island.

At night, Dr. Robotnik informs the population of the planet that in 24 hours he is going to destroy the Earth if humanity does not surrender to his empire, and shows an example of what will happen to the Earth after destroying half of the moon. It shoots out a huge green beam that comes from some kind of space colony, hidden for a long time under the guise of a meteor.

Super Sonic and Super Shadow

Some time later, Sonic and Tails pick up Eggman's signal from their secret pyramid base in the president's car and travel there. There, in the pyramid, they meet with Eggman himself, who released his golem robot on them. Sonic fights him, and soon they will go on a rocket to the ARC, that same colony.

On the Ark, Eggman kidnaps Amy and demands to give him the last Emerald. Tails replaces the real Sonic with a fake one and sends him to the doctor. Robotnik guessed that the Emerald was fake, imprisoned blue hedgehog into a capsule and discarded from the colony. Sonic, who is in the capsule, manages to do Chaos Control and teleports out of it before it explodes.

In the end, a few minutes before the colony's cannon is fired, Sonic disables it.

In the final story, Sonic and Shadow take on superforms to defeat Finalhazard and save the Earth from certain doom.

Sonic Heroes

In Game Sonic Heroes Sonic is a speedy character and the leader of Team Sonic. According to the plot, Sonic receives a letter from "Eggman", in which he outlined his plan to take over the world. Sonic, along with Tails and Knuckles, set off on a journey to thwart their evil plans.

Shadow the Hedgehog (game)

In this game, Sonic plays a passive role and only encourages Shadowto get on the right path. Sonic is presented here as one of the many partners of the dark hedgehog and does not play a significant role in the plot.

Sonic the Hedgehog (game, 2006)

In this game, the hedgehog has its own storyline, along with two more stories.

The action begins with the Solar Festival of Soleanna, where the entire city, which is called Soleanna, meets the ruler of the city, Princess Elise. Not everything is as good as it seemed. Dr. Eggman's cars attack the city, and a squad of robots surrounds the princess, and soon the dock itself appears in front of her. He forcibly demanded to give the Chaos Emerald, which she had, but then Sonic enters into trouble, who saves the princess from under the guns of the robots and escapes from Robotnik's attack.

Sonic and Tails arrived at the princess

However, Eggman still overtakes Sonic on his ship and kidnaps her with the help of the Eggmobile. She, in turn, throws him the Chaos Emerald, which was with her. A little later, closer to the morning, Sonic meets Tails, who told about what happened. Together they go to Wave Ocean in pursuit of Egg Carrier (in the game, the ship is named exactly the same as in SA). In the end, the heroes get to the desert, in the ruins of which Sonic and Tails find the princess imprisoned in a dungeon, and try to rescue her. But on the way, Eggman appears, who sets his "pet", Egg Cerberus, on the heroes. They quickly deal with him, and leave the desert back to Soleanna, after splitting up: Sonic with Elise and Tails separately.

On the way to Soleanna, Elise tells Sonic a little story about what the Calamity Flame is and why a guy like Eggman needs it. Solaris is the god of Soleanna who could express his anger through the Flame of Calamity. 10 years ago, the city's scientists were working on this project, resulting in the death of Elise's father. However, she could not tell everything, as she did not remember much as a child.

When Sonic and Elise arrived in Soleanna, the hedgehog was attacked by a silver hedgehog who introduced himself as Silver. He called the hedgehog Iblis Trigger, and was going to destroy Sonic, motivating this by saving the future. Silver literally squeezed Sonic in a vice, and was ready to get even with him, when suddenly Amy appears between them, who blocks Sonic with herself, allowing him to leave. At this time, Eggman again kidnaps the princess, and Sonic rushes after him.

At the port of Soleanna's New City, Sonic and Tails meet Knuckles. Echidna says that he saw Eggman, and he asked to send a message to Sonic. It stated that Sonic could only get Elise if he brought the Chaos Emerald to his base in the White Acropolis. The three of them get to the base, and hand over the blue stone to Eggman, demanding that Elise be given to them. Eggman, having received the Emerald, activates the mechanism and sends the trio through time.

Visit to Eggman

As it turned out, the Sonic team was transferred to the future, several hundred years ahead. The future was apocalyptic: destroyed buildings, monsters roaming everywhere, and lava everywhere. To the team's surprise, they meet Rouge and Shadow, who somehow end up in this time. They come to the decision to use Chaos Control to return to their normal time. They work together and set off on a quest. While inspecting buildings in the future, the characters overhear a conversation in one of the rooms. In the room were an unknown cat, Silver, and a dark hedgehog that looked a lot like Shadow. The heroes learn that this dark hedgehog tells Silver the reason for such a terrible future. He calls one day the Day of Calamity, the event during which Iblis was released and began to sow destruction on the world. He handed the purple Chaos Emerald to Silver so that he could see who needed to be destroyed. In it, the hedgehog saw a blue hedgehog, which, as he called it, is the Trigger of Iblis. An unknown dark hedgehog opens a portal and sends them back to the time that Iblis' Trigger was alive. After the disappearance of these characters, Sonic bursts into the room with Tails and Knuckles. The fox begins to check the data on the computer, and is horrified to notice that Elise has died on the Egg Carrier. Two days after the Sun Festival, Eggman's ship explodes, killing Elise with it.

Further, Sonic and the guys, along with Shadow and Rouge, meet again. It is revealed that Rouge has found a Chaos Emerald, and with it, the heroes explore the volcano in order to find a second one for a successful time travel. They find the Emerald, but things don't go as smoothly as they should. They fight with a huge flaming monster, and after that, the heroes go back in time, to their own time.

Sonic and Princess Elise

Team Sonic returns to the present, after which the hedgehog reads a newspaper with recent events and sets off in pursuit of Eggman's train, in which he is taking Elise. Sonic manages to save the princess, but after a while Silver pays a visit again, who is ready to deal with Sonic with even greater zeal. Fortunately, in right time Shadow appears and distracts Silver, allowing Sonic to leave. At the same time, Eggman AGAIN kidnaps Elise. However, this time she decided to save herself, but at the same time relying on Sonic. She just jumped from the huge height where the Eggmobile was, and the hedgehog managed to catch her. A little later, they are given to the conversation, the princess talks about her family and the country she rules.

Later, Dr. Eggman strikes again. This time, he threatens to raze Soleanna to the ground, and asks the princess to surrender. Elise has no choice but to go to Eggman, because she, according to her, could not harm her people. Sonic again goes after Egg Carrier, in which Elise is located along with Eggman, but according to the law of the genre, not everything is so simple. Sonic is attacked by Eggman's robots, which are quite superior to the forces of the hedgehog, and even in quantity. But then Silver is announced, who helps Sonic and deals with the mechanics. He motivates this by a "change in circumstances": he also needs to save the princess. Together, they go to Kingdom Valley in pursuit.

But due to a strange coincidence, Eggman's ship crashes, resulting in the death of Eggman and Elise herself. Sonic falls to his knees in despair. However, Silver offers a solution: travel back in time for a day and prevent Elise's death. So they did. With Chaos Control, Sonic and Silver open a portal to the past and Sonic disappears.

Resurrection of Sonic

The hedgehog ends up in Soleanna, after which he goes with Tails and Knuckles to Aquatic Base, to the place where Egg Carrier starts. Sonic enters the ship before it breaks down and fights Eggman for the last time. The fortress collapses, and Sonic and Elise leave it, after which the storyline ends.

In the final story, everything goes to the most unexpected consequences - Sonic is killed by Mephiles, and Elise's crying leads to the destruction of the universe. One way or another, all the heroes, as well as Dr. Eggman, unite to confront the reunited Solaris and save Sonic. Once Sonic's soul is saved, he takes on a super form along with Silver and Shadow to deal a devastating blow to the villain that destroyed the time stream.

Of course, in order to destroy such a monster, it was necessary to destroy it in that period of time when it was still safe. Sonic and Elise go to the moment of Elise's childhood, where a rather weak white light burned in the bowl - Solaris. He needed to be smothered. According to the law of time travel, it turns out that if Solaris did not exist throughout all the events, then the events themselves did not exist. Elise is very saddened by the fact that in the end she will never meet Sonic, but nevertheless she blows out the candle. End.

Sonic Unleashed

Sonic catches up with Eggman's fleet, who intends to attack the planet, but everything starts to go a little differently from the villain's scenario: Sonic, turning into Super Sonic, destroys many of Eggman's ships. However, the scientist, using cunning, lures the hedgehog into a trap and, using the power of the Chaos Emeralds that Sonic had, delivers a powerful blow to the Earth, which splits it into seven large pieces. Unknown forces break out from under the earth's mantle and turn Sonic into a terrible creature that looks like a werewolf. Eggman, on the other hand, drops the hedgehog from the base, along with the Emeralds, which have already lost their power.

Sonic falls on some young flying boy, whom he immediately gets to know. However, this very little one does not remember anything: he does not remember who he is, he does not remember why he came and what he is needed for. By this time, morning is already coming and Sonic takes his usual form, after which both heroes go to Apothos, and the hedgehog names his new friend Chip and promises him to return his memories.

By evening, Sonic takes on the appearance of a werewolf again and discovers new abilities that he did not possess in his usual state. That same evening, he meets with Tails, who was also worried. appearance Sonic, well, and the division of the planet into parts at the same time. The fox suggests that the hedgehog go to Spagonia, talk to Professor Pickle, who, according to Miles, will be able to deal with the problem of the planet. Three: Chip, Sonic and Tails get on the Tornado and hurry on their way.

In Spagonia, it is discovered that the professor was kidnapped by Eggman, and after rescuing him and gaining access to the materials, the heroes are already at the University of Spagonia discussing the catastrophe that overtook the planet. According to the Gaia manuscripts the heroes received, this was not the first time the planet had fallen apart. It's all to blame - an unusually strong organism located near the center of the Earth - Dark Gaia. Fortunately, the monster has not yet fully awakened, and there is still a chance to restore the destroyed particles of the planet by restoring energy to the Chaos Emeralds. To do this, Sonic needs to visit all the Temples of Gaia on the globe and use magic stones to return the Earth to normal. The first continent is Mazury.

In Masuria, the heroes run into Eggman, who is also apparently looking for the Temple of Gaia. Eggman, not wanting to dock with Sonic, hurriedly leaves, but later fights him and is defeated. The hedgehog finds the Temple of Gaia first and restores the first continent. Tails catches up with Sonic and Chip and tells them the good news about the continent. Since then, the characters begin a new race around the world in order to save the Earth.

Throughout the adventure, Sonic and Chip visited various countries and continents, gradually restoring the Earth to its former appearance, using the Chaos Emeralds found in various temples of Gaia, at the same time fighting Eggman and the monsters of Dark Gaia. Chip also restores his memories, from which it becomes clear that he is Light Gaia, a creature that should protect Dark Gaia from attempts to destroy the planet. Sonic and Chip also save the inhabitants of the planet from the spirits of Gaia that have inhabited them.

The last part that has not been restored is a small piece along with the island on which the city of Eggman is located - Eggmanland. Sonic gets to Eggman and fights him in werewolf form. During the battle, the heroes get to the bowels of the planet, where Dark Gaia lives. He takes energy from the hedgehog, thanks to which he could turn into a werewolf and himself transforms into a stronger creature. Chip uses his own Energy and transforms into a huge stone golem with the help of Gaia temples from around the world. Sonic, on the other hand, uses his Super Sonic form and fights Dark Gaia along with Chip.

In the end, the hedgehog returns to Apothos, and Chip is left with the defeated villain underground.

Sonic Colors

Sonic with Wisp

Sonic and Tails arrive at Dr. Eggman's amusement park in an elevator he built from the hedgehog planet to a group of planetoids, the main part of which is the Tropical Resort. Strangely, according to Eggman, this park was built to make amends for trying to take over the world many times over. Naturally, Sonic and Tails can't believe it. And they turn out to be right. After some time, Sonic saves several alien creatures from the clutches of the doctor's robots. As it turned out later, these aliens are able to endow Sonic with unique abilities that make it easy to cope with the numerous Eggman robots on the way.

With the help of a Wisp language translator (the name of the race of these little aliens) installed on Miles Electric, one of the rescued Wisp, Yaker, explains to Tails and Sonic that Eggman has captured several planets, including their own, Planet Wisp, in order to collect both as many Wisp as possible to use as energy.

Sonic and company are sent to all the planetoids to free the captured aliens and venerate the freedom of each of the planets. To do this, the hedgehog destroys the generators, which are guarded by the scientist's robots.

After reaching the final planet, the Asteroid Coaster, Sonic frees most of the Wisp, which prevents Eggman from using the Tropical Resort's Laser to strike the hedgehog's planet. All the planets captured by the scientist are freed, and a huge laser gun is destroyed due to the fault of the Rotatatron robot's mechanical arm, which got into the gun's mechanisms after its destruction. Instead of being shot, Dr. Eggman decides to end the hedgehog again and fights him in Terminal Velocity, which connects the amusement park to Earth. Sonic wins and almost dies, but the Wisps come to the rescue, who return him to their planet safe and sound.

Sonic in Fleetway comics

In the Fleetway comics, Sonic's ability to run at high speeds is not from birth (unlike in games and cartoons). In the Fleetway universe, Sonic was an ordinary brown and rather prickly Mobian hedgehog. Dr. Ovi Kintobor (turned over - Dr. Ivo Robotnik) was working on an experiment with seven Chaos Emeralds, codenamed R.O.C.C. (Retro-Orbital Chaos Compressor). Kintobor wanted to test how fast a hedgehog could run on a treadmill. But when it reached 700 mph, the sound barrier broke. As a result, a side effect occurred and Sonic turns blue and torn white sneakers. Later, Kintobor created more stable shoes for such speeds, which Sonic wears to this day. Sonic and Kintobor became good friends and spent a lot of time in the lab. One day while working on

Known to most children in the world, "Sonic" is a cartoon created by a Japanese television company based on the games of the same name for the Sega platform. Despite the fact that the game appeared at the box office in the early 90s, it was decided to film the animated series only in 2003. In native Japan, this anime project did not deserve praise from the viewer, but in Russia, the USA and France it became incredibly popular.

Plot

Anthropomorphic animal heroes are the main characters. Sonic is a hedgehog, he is on the same team with Tails the fox, another hedgehog Amy Rose and the rabbit Cream. The main characters, against their will, leave their home planet and end up on Earth, where they meet a boy - Christopher Thorndike.

On our planet, these animals must fight the evil doctor - the scientist Eggman, as well as the robots that he developed. Chaos Emeralds are the main goal that the characters are trying to get throughout the battles. Sonic and his friends also have to get used to the status of celebrities, because there are no more animals on Earth that would have qualities that are inherent only to people. As a result of numerous battles, a team of alien animals receives a long-awaited victory over an evil tyrant. At the same time, during the war they suffered not only losses. Animals, which were representatives of various space races and dimensions, became a close-knit and friendly company. They fought for a common cause on an alien planet and at the same time did not lose faith in victory, they maintained warm relations.

Main character

Sonic the hedgehog is at the head of a team of anthropomorphic animals from another planet. It is characterized by the ability to run faster than sound, rush at incredible speed and at the same time manage to notice everything around you. Sonic is a brave and courageous hedgehog, he constantly helps out his friends and is not afraid to fight with Eggman. Under the influence of the Chaos Emeralds, the hedgehog can transform into super and hyper forms, becoming stronger and faster. It is worth noting that shape modification under the influence of magic items is a quality that almost all characters possess. Sonic also changes in anger, taking on the appearance of Darkspine. Under the influence of swords, it turns into Excalibur, and at night it can appear as a werewolf Verhoga.

Tails Prower

Initially a shy fox cub with two tails, Sonic's best friend. He was previously a scientist - designed and built a spacecraft, submarine and several planes. After meeting a fast and energetic hedgehog, Tails gradually gained confidence in himself and his abilities. In the Sonic X cartoon, the little fox has a special gift - he flies, pushing off the ground with his double tail. He also interacts with super-emeralds, taking under their influence a hyper-form in which he is surrounded by Flicky birds.

Amy Rose

A pink hedgehog named Amy is bright, eccentric and a little mysterious, like all the acting characters. Sonic is the object of her addictions, she is more than in love with her blue brother, constantly chasing him and trying to attract his attention. For this reason, Sonic often avoids meeting with Amy, but at the same time does not forget to help her out when she is in trouble. The main weapon of the hedgehog is a hammer called Pico-Pico, which she never lets go of. Amy also knows how to predict the future using Tarot cards. For this gift, the whole team appreciates her because he repeatedly rescued animals from trouble.

Rabbit Cream

This is a small and naive girl who, despite her young age, can always stand up for herself and take revenge on the enemy. In addition, Krim has an incredible curiosity and tries to do as many things as possible in a day. Blaze is her best friend. As a so-called weapon, the rabbit carries with her Chao Cheese and Chao Chocola. These are pets, also from the world of Sonic, who can fly.

Dr. Eggman

The main antagonist in this anime cartoon. He dreams of seizing power on the planet, enslaving everyone and subjugating himself. He is engaged in the development and production of animal-like robots that carry out all his orders. Sonic and his team are constantly fighting with Eggman, forcing all his evil inventions out of the world. At the end of the series, they win this long war and the scientist, whose intentions were evil, goes into the shadows.

Conclusion

Sonic is a cartoon recommended for viewing not only for children, but also for adults. Against the backdrop of drawn characters endowed with anthropomorphic qualities, a real struggle for justice unfolds. The cartoon also teaches true friendship, shows that your loved ones should always be supported and rescued from difficult situations. Well, in addition, it can be noted that the graphics and, in general, the work of the artist in this project just gorgeous. The characters and their characters are chosen incredibly competently and accurately, the cartoon itself is colorful and memorable. It was filmed on the basis of a series of games of the same name for consoles, and later released comics, which described the new, not yet filmed adventures of the blue hedgehog and his comrades.

History of creation

In 1990, Sega management commissioned its AM8 division to develop a game that could sell over a million copies and a character that could become the company's mascot. There were several applicants, including a dog, a hare, and even Theodore Roosevelt in pajamas (later becoming the basis for Dr. Robotnik). In April, the choice narrowed down to an armadillo and a hedgehog. Preference was given to the hedgehog by Naoto Oshima for its "thornyness". Over the game Sonic the Hedgehog
a group of 15 people called "Sonic Team" began to work. The music for the game was written by Masato Nakamura of the band Dreams Come True, and Sonic was drawn on the buses and flyers of this group during their next tour "Wonder 3"

In an interview with ThisIsMyJoystick.com, Yuji Naka said that Sonic was created to show the struggle of nature with the progress of technology. Yuji Naka didn't talk about it in 1991, instead showing his point of view in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. Dr. Eggman is shown as a villain who pollutes environment and using mechanisms that destroy the environment and Sonic must resist this

Characteristics

Accurate age, weight, height, etc. physical characteristics Sonic has changed over time, including the drawing style. In video games, the original design was Naota Oshima's when Sonic was of a child-like form, with short quills, a round body, and eyes without irises. The art, drawn by Dag Williams, was featured on the box of the first Sonic the Hedgehog game, with subsequent games using a similar design. With the introduction of the game Sonic Adventure in 1998, Sonic was redesigned by Yuji Uekawa as a taller character with longer legs and a less spherical body. The needles are longer and the eyes are drawn with green irises. Further changes to the character were made in the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog game: the hedgehog became slimmer, taller, and his needles and fur acquired a lighter shade. Third-party works like comics and videos have used design variations from video games, with restrictions set by the standard model description. At the moment, his height is 100 centimeters, weight - 35 kilograms Initially, Sonic wore red Speed Shoes with a white belt and a yellow buckle on it. However, in Sonic Adventure
during the game, he finds "Light Speed Shoes" - shoes closer to the modern idea of sneakers, which also give Sonic additional abilities. In Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic wears "Soap Shoes" - fashionable and slightly bulky sneakers. It is noteworthy that in Sonic Adventure 2 Trial (an early demo of Sonic Adventure 2), Sonic wore the same sneakers as in Sonic Adventure, but then Sonic Team made an order from "Soap Shoes" - and the current company that produces the same type of sneakers (by the way, with a recess on the sole, allowing you to ride on the railing like Sonic) and “tried on” the blue hedgehog. That's how these sneakers got into the game. The reason for his blue coloration has never been explained in the games. According to one version, when, with the help of the not yet embittered Doctor Robotnik, he first broke the sound barrier, he acquired such a color.

Character

In games and cartoons, Sonic's character is slightly different. He loves adventure, running and his speed, as well as sunbathing on the beach, and hates to stand still. He also considers his main "fun" to save the world and fight against Robotnik. He does not consider saving the world a feat, for him it is a hobby or entertainment. Sonic is carefree. He also dislikes water (according to some versions, he is afraid of water, since he cannot swim and does not like obstacles that he cannot overcome). He makes friends quickly and, according to Cosmo in the Sonic X series, is able to "make friends with anyone". According to the Archie comics and the animated series Sonic the Hedgehog, Adventure of Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic Underground, Sonic goes crazy over chili dogs and eats them in in large numbers Separately, in the games, his heroic character and the desire to stand up to the end for what he believes in are noted. But Sonic is impulsive and often does rash things. For example, at the beginning of the third season of the anime Sonic X, he unleashes all seven Chaos Emeralds throughout space to prevent the Metarex from capturing them, which causes him to lose consciousness and fall to a Parallel Earth (Mobius
) from orbit.

Voice acting

Sonic was first voiced in the game SegaSonic the Hedgehog by Takeshi Kusao. In Sonic CD, Sonic voiced Keiko Utoka, however, his voice is heard only twice - when the time is up, Sonic says such words as "I'm outta here!" and "Yes!" when the player gains one life. The earliest voice of Sonic in the animated series Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Underground was Jalil White, however, Samuel Vincent replaced Sonic Underground during the songs. In 1996, the Sonic OVA cartoon (also known as Sonic the Movie and Sonic Anime) was released in Japan, where Sonic was voiced by Masami Kikuchi. In 1999, Sonic OVA was shown in the United States, in the English version of Sonic voiced by Martin Burke.

Starting with the Sonic Adventure game released in 1998, Sonic games also began to feature voice acting. In the Japanese version, Sonic was voiced by Junichi Kanemaru, who would later voice Sonic in the Japanese version of Sonic X. Ryan Drummond voiced Sonic in Sonic Adventure and several other games. However, 4Kids Entertainment decided to use their actor Jason Griffith in the American version of the Sonic X anime series. Despite this, Drummond continued to voice Sonic in games until 2005, when Sega replaced all of its actors who worked on the Sonic series with actors from 4Kids Entertainment in order to unify the games and Sonic X. Thus, Griffith became the official voice of Sonic starting with Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Rush.

(In 2010, Sega replaced almost all the actors and now Sonic is voiced by Roger Craig Smith, who gave the voice of Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Assassin's Creed II and in the sequel Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Chris Redfield from Resident Evil 5.)

home planet

Sonic's home planet is Earth, however the name of the house sometimes changes based on some regional differences. According to early material from Sonic Team, Sonic was born on Christmas Island. In the game Sonic Battle, Sonic lives in the city of Emerald Town (Emerald City)

Earth: Sonic has always lived on Earth for players living on earth during the 16-bit era of the 90s, other players believed that Sonic's home world is called "Mobius" - a parallel Earth. The name came from a mistranslation of the word in a 1992 Sega Visions interview with Yuji Naka; he was actually talking about the "Mobius strip" used in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. However, all games released after Sonic Adventure were set on Earth, and all used the same story and names regardless of territory. Sonic Adventure 2 was the first game to consistently use the term "Earth", which has continued in other games. The remake of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, and the subsequent game Shadow the Hedgehog, contains views of Earth from space. However, the location and shape of the continents there are not real (as in Sonic & Knuckles). In Sonic Unleashed, Sonic travels around the world through fantasy countries on fantasy continents that look like Earth. Therefore, the world of Sonic is a fantastic planet Earth, not like ours.

Mobius: All American and European comics, cartoons and books have said that Sonic lives on the planet Mobius. Archie comics told about the relationship between the Earth and Mobius, with Mobius being the Earth in the future. This happened when Xord's aliens planted a Gene Bomb that wiped out the entire human race. The events in the Archie comics take place 1300 years in the future. The British spin-off Sonic the Comic claims that Mobius is a world completely separate from Earth and is Earth's sister. In Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Underground, two other series, there is no relationship between Earth and Mobius.

Planet Freedom: This world has only appeared in the Sonic OVA. During this movie, it was explained that the world is divided into two parts - The Land of the Sky, which is where Sonic and his friends live, and the Land of Darkness, where Doctor Eggman lives. Judging by the ruins of an ancient city in the Land of Darkness, this planet is also the Earth of the future.

Unknown: The world of Sonic in the anime Sonic X is an unknown planet in an alternate reality that is in the same location as Earth, as revealed in episode 49.

Relations

Amy Rose

Amy has a crush on Sonic, but he doesn't love her back because it scares and embarrasses him. In the comics, she also ceases to pay special attention to Sonic after some time, and he does not really like it. Although in Sonic X, Sonic gives Amy some attention, especially in episode 52, where he gives her a white rose. Although Sonic usually just runs away from Amy, it is still clearly shown in some episodes that he is afraid for her - so, in episode 9 "The Last Resort" he even managed to overcome his fear of water, rushing after Amy when she smashed Eggman's robot and sending his aircraft flying, fell into the water. He was also very upset that Amy did not recognize him in the form of a werewolf hedgehog, which also speaks of his sympathy for Amy.

Miles "Tails" Prower

Tails is Sonic's faithful companion in his adventures. To quote him, "Sonic has taken Tails under his wing and treats him like a little brother." Their acquaintance in games, cartoons and comics is described in different ways. According to Sonic X, Tails created various devices that constantly broke. Tails was very upset, but suddenly, when he saw Sonic, he followed him, and, going to the seashore, he saw Sonic's plane. He repaired and painted it blue, and when Sonic arrived, Tails told him that he fixed the plane, and then Sonic became friends with Tails. Sonic often has to pull the fox out of trouble, but unlike Knuckles, Tails does not create large-scale problems, but rather only helps Sonic.

Echidna Knuckles

Knuckles, unlike Sonic, is much more serious and treats the hedgehog as a frivolous hero. Everywhere Sonic tries to succeed, but because of gullibility, he often lets himself and others down. Sonic sometimes refers to him as a "friendly enemy".

Other characters

According to the Sonic the Hedgehog comics, Sally is the only one Sonic loves. In the future, they got married and gave birth to two children: the hedgehog Manik (copy of the father) and Squirrel Sonya (copy of the mother). The history of their relationship is long and confusing (including because of this, that Sonic loves travel, and Sally is categorically against them).

According to the Archie comics comics, it was Sonic who saved Bunny from full robotization, and Bunny saved him several times, which led to a romance for some time, they even kissed. At one time, when Doctor Robotnik robotized Sonic and attacked the Freedom Fighters, Bunny went into battle with him, but lost to him. And now that Bunny married Antoine, she and Sonic are just true friends and even treat each other like brother and sister.

Sonic dated Fiona for a while. Now Fiona loves Scourge/Evil Sonic.

Death and resurrection

In the 20th issue of the Archie comics, during the explosion of Robotnik's base, Sonic was there, and everyone thought that he had died, and Sonic decided that he was a ghost. But later it turned out that he did not die, but became invisible. Later, he used one device that made him visible again.

In the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog game, Sonic is killed by Mephiles, but is then resurrected when time is stopped with the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

Sonic has made cameo appearances in over 60 video games, 4 cartoons and 300 comics.

For example, as a referee in the Sega GamePack 4 in 1 game, as a puppet in LittleBigPlanet (which also featured Tails, Knuckles, Eggman and Sonic the Werewolf puppets), as a special guest on Rosie O'Donnell's talk show in 1999, or in a cartoon Megas XLR.

Sonic has made two appearances in The Simpsons as a crazy fantasy by Bart Simpson (episode "Marge Be Not Proud") and as a wedding commercial character (episode "That 90's Show").

Relatives

It appears that Sonic has no relatives in the games and in Sonic X. In the animated series Sonic Underground, Sonic has a mother, Queen Alina, an uncle, Chuck, a brother, Manik, and a sister, Sonya. In the comics, Archie is Jules' father and Bernie's mother, who were both robotic. Later, Bernie was deroboticized, but his father was not, because if derobotized, he would have died due to an old wound. In the Archie version, Sonic has the same uncle Chuck (paternal side) as in Sonic Underground and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Capabilities

Sonic is called the "Fastest Creature in the World" or "The World's Fastest Hedgehog", but he also has other abilities:

Spin Jump - allows him to damage the enemy by simply jumping on him.

Spin Dash is perhaps his most famous ability, allowing him to accelerate very quickly.

Chaos Control - Has 2 types - teleportation and time stop. By mimicking Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic was able to use Chaos Control for the first time to save himself from falling into the atmosphere in Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic rarely uses this ability, as he prefers to rely on his own legs rather than teleportation.

Light Speed Dash, with which he can easily overcome a long track of rings at the speed of light.

Light Speed Attack - A homing attack on all enemies in range. Only found in Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Sonic Heroes (after Sonic's team explosion).

Homing Attack - allows you to attack the nearest enemy in a homing jump.

Somersault - Appears in Sonic Adventure 2, allows you to kill enemies and pass through places with a low ceiling.

Bounce Attack - Appears in Sonic Adventure 2, allows you to kill enemies and jump on high ledges.

Blue Tornado - A whirlwind that swirls around the enemy, disorienting them and removing their shield. Appears in Sonic Heroes, but in Sonic Adventure 2 there was a similar attack - Sonic Wind, which acts similarly.

Boost - an ability that allows you to reach huge speeds in seconds. First appears in Sonic Unleashed.

super shape

Super Sonic is Sonic's super form. To transform, you need 7 Chaos Emeralds. Superform makes the character invulnerable and changes his appearance: golden yellow color, red eyes. The needles are bent upward, apparently from an excess of energy. Super Sonic moves much faster and can even fly.

In games, as a rule, Sonic goes into super form only for a while. Invulnerability and unlimited power are compensated by the fact that the rings decrease every second. To transform into a super form, you need at least 50 rings. When the rings run out, Sonic returns to normal (starting with Sonic Adventure, this leads to death).

Appearances of Super Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16 bit), Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. You can turn into Super Sonic at levels. He destroys enemies with one touch, starts to run faster and jumps high, but cannot fly. Super Sonic can die if he is crushed by something or if he falls into the abyss. To activate, you need to collect all seven Chaos Emeralds on a special level, collect 50 rings or more and click on the "jump" 2 times. One ring is spent per second. The super form ends when all the rings end. Also in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in Debug Mode, you can put the “S” monitor, then breaking it, you can become Super Sonic, who is immediately given 50 rings.

Sonic Adventure/Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut. Sonic turned into Super Sonic to defeat Chaos, which destroyed the city of Station Square (Station Square). But Perfect Chaos also used the Chaos Emeralds, but only their negative side, and Sonic's positive.

Sonic Adventure 2/Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Sonic and Shadow teamed up and turned into their super forms to defeat Biolizard - the prototype of the Highest life form, which, on the orders of Gerald Robotnik, wanted to destroy the world, pulled the ARK colony to Earth (after all, they were in space).

Sonic Heroes. Sonic turned into Super Sonic to defeat Metal Sonic in his highest form- Metal Overlord. He was assisted by Knuckles and Tails.

Sonic Advance 3. After defeating Egman, Gemerl's robot (Eggman's robot) knocks down Sonic and takes his Chaos Emeralds, becomes Nonagressor and betrays Eggman, throwing his scooter at Sonic, but the emeralds return to Sonic, he becomes Super Sonic and unites with Eggman . Nonagressor could hurt Super Sonic, but without taking away the rings, it resets Tag of Sonic and Egman.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 Sonic, along with Shadow and Silver, transform into their super-forms to stop Solaris, the God of the Sun. Solaris could hurt Super Sonic (as well as Super Shadow and Super Silver) despite his invulnerability.

Sonic Riders and Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. You can open it if you complete all the missions for gold medals.

Sonic Unleashed Sonic was forced to assume his super form due to the fact that the ancient god Dark Gaia, buried in the core of the Earth, was able to escape, thanks to Eggman's trap, began to turn the planet into a Dark World of hope and despair. Like Solaris, Dark Gaia could injure Sonic by knocking out a fairly large number of rings from him.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Sonic can become Super Sonic at any level if he has all seven Chaos Emeralds, just like in the classic games.

Sonic X. Sonic became Super Sonic at the end of the first season. He used his super form transformation to fight Chaos and Biolizard (similar to the Sonic Adventure series of games), and also to return to his world at the end of the second season. In the third season, Sonic used his super form three times: for the first fight with the Metarex (it was then that he threw the Chaos Emeralds into space), noting that for the first time the enemy defeated him in the form of Super Sonic, for the battle with Shadow at the Metarex base and for the final battle.

Fleetway comics. Super Sonic is the "evil" side of Sonic that appeared in Sonic when he was very annoyed or pissed off. Because of this, Super Sonic has red eyes, from which he could shoot a laser!

Comics "Archie". Sonic first became Super Sonic when he fought a huge robotic salamander. Later he became it again in a battle with Hyper Knuckles. During the fight with Master Mogul, he is in super form, along with Hyper Knuckles and Turbo Tails. He used super form transformation to fight Chaos and Biolizard (similar to the Sonic Adventure series of games). Also, when Sonic was in space, he was forced to fight his counterpart in super form. Sonic, along with Tails and Shadow, transform into their super forms to stop Eggman's son A.D.A.M. and send the Chaos Emeralds to the Special Zone. And when Knuckles became the god Enerjack, Sonic again took on a super-form to stop him.

Other Super Forms

Hyper Sonic is Super Sonic, shimmering with the colors of all 7 Chaos Emeralds, but with two additional powers. The first is the so-called "lightning flash", destroying all enemies on the screen (if you jump up and use the flash, Sonic will double jump). Hyper Sonic's second ability is that he can breathe underwater. Among other things, Hyper Sonic is faster than Super Sonic. This form is only available in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The discovery of Hyper Sonic changes the game's ending.

Dark Sonic is a form of Sonic that appears in episode 67 of Sonic X.
There, Sonic witnesses the Metarexes torturing his friends. Brought to the highest degree of malice, he uses the power of artificial Chaos Emeralds lying in large numbers under the floor, and takes his dark form, turning into a completely black hedgehog, except for gloves, boots and eyes, which do not have pupils that emit a blue-black aura . This form has an intermediate transformation: Sonic's fur turns blue-black, and his body exudes an aura similar to that of a fully transformed Dark Sonic. It is assumed that this form of Sonic has all the abilities of Super Sonic (and maybe even stronger than it), but only she is "evil". It is also believed that the analogue of this form in games is Darkspine Sonic: Sonic partly underwent both transformations involuntarily, both of them are provoked by negative emotions and look very similar in appearance.

Darkspine Sonic was first and probably last featured in Sonic and the Secret Rings. A blue-black Sonic, quite reminiscent of his dark form. The eyes also do not have pupils. In addition, 4 fiery rings are worn on the wrists and legs, but there are also rings on the needles, so there are 10 of them in total. In addition, two white stripes cross the hedgehog vertically. Aura is red. This superform is created not by seven emeralds, but by three rings of the world (there are seven in total), around which the plot of the game revolves. Sonic is vulnerable to attacks, but does not consume rings. The main strength is a huge amount of Soul energy, replenished at any moment of need out of nowhere (you just need to chat furiously wiimote) and raising the soul scale "to the ceiling."

Sonic the Werehog (a corruption of the English "Werewolf", werewolf) is Sonic turned into a werewolf. In this form, Sonic grows in size, claws grow on his fingers (so the gloves break first), hair stands on end, the ends of the needles turn white, fangs and spikes appear on the soles. The abilities of this form are stretching limbs, climbing walls, and great physical strength. Sonic enters it automatically after sunset or in places where sunlight does not reach. During the transformation, he is tormented by severe physical pain.

Appeared only in the game Sonic Unleashed and the cartoon Sonic: Night of Werehog.

Excalibur Sonic - appeared in the final battle in the game Sonic and the Black Knight. Most likely, just like Darkspine Sonic - the first and last time. This Super Form looks like a hedgehog, dressed in knightly armor shining with gold; in the hands of the sword Excalibur. This form is not created by Emeralds, to transfer to this Super form, Sonic uses the power of the transformed sword Caliburn and the Three Holy Swords. This is the first transformation in which Sonic's body itself does not undergo changes, as well as one of the four "forced" transformations.
(the first three were Dark Sonic, Darkspine Sonic and Werehog Sonic).

Jerome Wise (jap. ジェローム・ワイズ Zero:mu Waizu, English Jerome Wise)- Press Secretary of the President. I tried to maintain the presidential rating at a decent level. Jerome was the initiator of a charity evening in honor of the defeat of Doctor Eggman's base in the series Eiyuu Sonic wo Oe!, on which, according to his plan, Sonic and the President were to publicly shake hands with each other. Wise wanted to raise the presidential rating in this way. After this plan failed, Wise organized a race between Sonic and Chris' uncle Sam Speed. The President had to shake hands with the winner of the races. But everything turned out in such a way that Jerome was removed from public office for conspiring with Doctor Eggman.
