• purchase, storage and supply of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products on the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (should be connected to the system before July 1, 2016);
• retail sale of alcoholic products in rural settlements with a population of less than three thousand people that do not have an Internet access point (the list of such settlements is determined by the law of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation, they must be connected by July 1, 2017);
• retail sale of alcoholic products, as well as the purchase of beer and beer drinks, cider, poiret and mead for their subsequent retail sale individual entrepreneurs on the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol(connection period in urban settlements - until January 1, 2017, for rural settlements - until January 1, 2018).

May not connect

In accordance with 182-FZ, signed by the President on June 29, 2015, the following may not be connected to the EGAIS:

• producers of beer and beer drinks, cider, poiret and mead with a volume of no more than 300 thousand decaliters per year;
• producers of wine and sparkling wine (champagne) from their own grapes;
• organizations implementing retail sale beer, beer drinks, cider, poiret, mead, spirits (in terms of fixing sales);
• organizations engaged in the retail sale of alcoholic products in the provision of catering services.

How EGAIS works

Each bottle of alcohol has a special brand. It has a 2D Micro PDF417 barcode with detailed information about the manufacturer, license, bottling date and other characteristics of the drink.

The fact of the sale of each unit of alcohol must be recorded in the EGAIS system. With the help of a 2D scanner, the cashier reads the barcode of the federal special or excise stamp. After successful reading, the item is added to the check, and the cash register software generates an xml file and sends it to UTM ATOL (Universal Transport Module). UTM, in turn, generates a receipt and returns it to the cashier, after which the receipt is closed with the printing of a slip of alcoholic products. Thus, accounting is carried out online.
