The retailer closed the last outlet of the network. The picnic is over. The retailer closed the last retail outlet of the network What is happening with the picnic retail chain

Good day to all and good mood!

Boiled .... this time I decided to dedicate my review to the store (trading network) "Piknik".

The store itself (and not one) is located near the house - there are 2 of them (one is large, the other is slightly smaller).

This chain of stores also has the possibility of ordering goods and products online. I've never used this service myself, so I can't say.

Previously, when the store opened, it was very good - a large selection, on the first floor there are groceries, on the second floor there are things, haberdashery and goods for the kitchen and bath. There is also an elevator which is very convenient. Prices there were not so low before - that is, the store positioned itself slightly higher than economy class stores.

It was also clean and it was nice to go to pick up groceries.

But now time has passed and already, somewhere around 3-4 years, the store began to deteriorate. And the last two years, in general, has turned into a disgusting place.

I stopped going there, for the last 2-3 years, I definitely don’t go there.

But then, somehow I was returning from work, I was tired and it was hot - I was very thirsty, because there were no more shops nearby - I had to go to the "Picnic" .... ehhh .. it would be better to endure it home

I went in with the hope of just buying narzan or something like that (in a small amount) to quench my thirst. Yeah ..... a nightmare (I didn’t go there for a long time and did the right thing) .... the smell of something either rotten or decomposed. I don't know, but it's very annoying.

I immediately went to the counter, where there is water and juices - there are practically no small bottles of water or juice.

They cost more than a liter of 1.5-2 narzan or juice. And the price is outrageous even with the discount. Even with discounts and promotions - very expensive, for 1.5 liters of juice they ask (already for a promotion) more than 160 rubles.

While I was looking for something smaller and more digestible - I saw a lot standing nearby expired milk packs (!) - and this is the department with water and juice!. Then I saw how an untidy woman lays out the same packages of milk, already overdue for 5 days, for sale.

And so - all the time! The department of frozen products is simply scary to visit - somehow you don’t want to risk your health, and even for a lot of money.

There is dirt on the floor, something is spilled somewhere, but no one is in a hurry to clean it up. Behind the cash register (out of 5) sits 2 people. The guards in the store are more like criminal elements.

In general, somehow I found a small bottle of water - the price tag was 29 rubles! As it turned out later at the checkout, it costs 39 rubles! Why? I just asked - why is it worth 29 rubles on the price tag, when you come to the cashier for 39 rubles ?!

In response, I flew - so, will you take it or not? What else do I have to change the price tags for you?!

A security guard was standing nearby (looking like an experienced convict, or maybe actually a former prisoner) and it would be okay just standing, he also releases comments about buyers and in general - che, ****, don’t x** then go here if you don't like it!

I quickly paid for the water (I just really wanted to drink and was very tired after work, otherwise it would have been over, I would have left it all and left) and ran from this garbage dump!

I saw at another checkout (in parallel with me) how they cheated a woman for a decent amount and they stood, dealt with the cashier, and the other guard just frankly cursed the customer!

It was heard that the woman was also indignant about the fraud with prices and that instead of 1500 rubles, for some reason she owed 2100 rubles.

In general, I left there quickly and I WILL NEVER COME THERE AGAIN!!! AND ALL FAMILY AND FRIENDS I WILL PUNISH IN NO EVENT TO GO THERE!!!

Conclusions: the store has turned into one continuous horror, whatever it is - a nightmare!

  • dirt
  • swearing at the store visitors from store employees and security guards
  • very expensive even with discounts and promotions (and who will go there even with discounts with such an attitude and service)
  • cheating at the box office and with prices
  • many stitched goods

I really hope that sometime the prosecutor's office or other inspection bodies will look there!

In the meantime, I don’t advise anyone to go there, even though the store is close to home and for other reasons - DO NOT GO THERE! If you do not want to get a decent dose of negativity and expose your health to unjustified risk!

All successful shopping and positive!

On the eve of Elmash, another store of the Piknik trading network was closed. According to former employees, Magnit will open in its place in the near future. The liquidation of the outlet was not news to anyone - the locals had been waiting for this for half a year already: first they stopped bringing goods to the store, then the operating time was significantly reduced, and then only one cashier and one security guard were left from the entire staff.

Over the past six months, the number of Piknik stores in Yekaterinburg has decreased by five times: from 35 stores to 7. And if these remaining stores functioned in a more or less normal mode, then there would be no talk of the complete elimination of the city's grocery chain. But in the remaining retail outlets, deliveries are extremely rare, half of the dairy products are expired, the meat is green and rotten, and most of the food shelves are occupied by five-liter bottles of water evenly spaced half a meter apart.

Blue marks on the map still exist, albeit in a deplorable state, stores of the Piknik network. The rest of the points former stores networks occupied by their competitors. Red marked "Pyaterochka", green - "Magnets", yellow - "Gastronom Alekseevsky".

Piknik began its activity in Yekaterinburg on April 18, 1998 with the opening of a small counter shop selling everyday goods on 8 March Street, 128. AT better times the network consisted of almost 40 stores, but the turning point was 2012, when the Plotitsins, who founded this network, decided to divorce. After the dissolution of the marriage, five stores owned by Dmitry Plotitsin, which had previously developed under the Piknik brand, were rebranded into the Yabloko retail chain. Since then, "Picnic" has been slowly losing ground.

The first news about significant problems in the "Picnic" appeared in October last year. Employees of the network began to complain about periodic salary delays. Store owner Nadezhda Plotitsyna said the difficulties associated with the transition to new system planning and cost control. But this transition led to collapse.

According to store employees who quit just a couple of weeks ago, they have not been paid money since January of this year. Upon dismissal, no one gave them a salary for the period worked, to say nothing of vacation pay. Now, according to the ex-employees of Piknik, they are trying to return their honestly earned money with the help of the prosecutor's office, where they regularly write complaints.

However, not only network employees have problems with receiving money. According to the site Arbitration Court Sverdlovsk region, only two LLCs (“Mercury” and “TD Sosnovy Bor”) out of almost ten, for which the chain stores are registered, suppliers are trying to sue about 26 million rubles. Moreover, almost all claims began to be registered from January 2017. Exactly from the same time as the employees stopped being paid salaries.

In the “Picnic” itself, the situation is not commented on. Or rather, there is simply no one to comment on it: no one answers calls in the office, and the only one who could clarify the situation before, the retailer's director Vasily Gusev, quit.

The fact that Piknik is not doing well is also evidenced by the fact that the company sold its domain name: when requested on the Internet, the website of the V Gastronom online store is displayed instead of the official page of the network.

Experts note that the reduction in the number of outlets of regional retailers is a natural process. It is becoming more and more difficult for them to compete in the market with federal companies that have begun active expansion into the regions.

The journalists of the site looked at exactly which stores are opening on the site of the closed Picnics. For the most part, these are Pyaterochka and Magnets. Retailers, entering this or that site, survive from it all representatives of local networks. This assumption is confirmed by the fact that three of the seven surviving and more or less working Picnic are located in very remote areas where representatives of other networks have not yet reached - they are not within easy reach of the local population.

But the plans of the Russian players in this market are far-reaching. In Yekaterinburg alone, another 25 Pyaterochkas will open by the end of the year, and gradually their number will reach 150. Their closest competitors, the Monetka and Magnit chains, already have 103 and 129 stores in the city, respectively. How many there will be by the end of the year is unknown, since representatives of these grocery chains do not disclose their plans. But apparently, representatives of these chains will open new outlets just at the places of the remaining Picnics, since at least some of the stores are open, their premises have long been put up for sale.

In Yekaterinburg, another store of the Piknik chain stopped working - its reconstruction was announced, but the head of the company has doubts about this. In the other two points half-empty shelves for several weeks.

Shop network "Picnic", working on the street. Novgorodtseva in the area of concrete goods, closed, reports E1 with reference to the director of the network Vasily Gusev. He explained: the point stopped working, as it was planned to reconstruct and increase the share of tenants:

« It is planned that the store will open, but it may be that the landlord wants to take over the entire area. So far, no one is talking about closing stores. I say "bye" because I'm not the one who decides, anything can happen».

The publication also reports that in the other two points of the network "Picnic" - at the intersection of Lenin-Moskovskaya and on the street. Weiner - for several weeks, problems with replenishing the shelves with products. However, the stores comment that no closures are planned. Mr. Gusev adds:

« Starting next week, we plan to receive goods in stores. Right now we are working with suppliers. How well this will go, only time will tell.».

Recall that earlier nine supermarkets of the Piknik chain closed in Yekaterinburg - along the streets of Shamanov, Onufriyev, Stepan Razin, Gottwald, Syromolotov, Ordzhonikidze and in Sysert. Also, "Picnics" disappeared from Kamensk-Uralsky. As a result, out of 35 points of the network, which has been operating in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region for more than 20 years, 24 remained.

« This is a normal situation in these market conditions. We are closing unprofitable stores. For the last three months, we have closed everything that we planned, we are waiting for how the situation will develop further.”, — said the representative of the network.

It should be noted that the financial difficulties of the retail chain became known back in the fall: employees complained that they were reducing their salaries, and visitors complained about the thinned assortment of store shelves. Then the management of the network stated that two unprofitable stores were closed, but there are no plans to reduce the number of outlets in the future.

Experts note that the reduction of the market share of regional retailers is a natural process. It becomes more difficult for them to compete with federal companies that have begun active expansion into the regions. As DK.RU wrote, forced optimization is taking place in the Seven Keys shopping center, which closed its third store, and the Zvyozdny chain.

At the same time, federal discounter-format players come to the region: Pyaterochka X5 Retail Group and "Magnet" open all more shops, including at sites where local networks previously operated. In particular, the store network "Picnic" on the street. Gottwald, 21 closed, unable to withstand the competition with the "Magnet", which opened opposite, and a few months later this building was occupied by "Pyaterochka". In addition, X5 Retail Group placed its outlets at the site of the closed stores of the Magnum chain.

Despite the onslaught of the federal authorities and analysts' forecasts, according to which the TOP-5 largest retailers will eventually divide the entire regional market, Alexander Ogloblin, head of the Elisey TS, believes that some local players are able to fight back and maintain (or even strengthen) their positions:

« It seems a little more, and all the cover. But this is a delusion. Albeit not at such a high pace, but the leaders of regional retail "Kirovskiy" and "Monetka”,” the entrepreneur noted in his column on DK.RU.

", who worked on Okruzhnaya Street. E1 writes about this with reference to market participants. Previously, a two-story store building at Okruzhnaya, 1D was put up for sale, setting a price of 180 million rubles. Currently, the telephones of the regional retailer's office are not answered, and the Piknik website is also down.

The regional retailer, unable to compete with federal chains during the crisis, began selling outlets exactly a year ago. In August 2016, the first outlets operating in Yekaterinburg and Kamensk-Uralsky were put up for sale. In the fall, information appeared that the staff of the Piknik stores in Yekaterinburg for several months. Then the owner of the network, Nadezhda Plotitsina, said that salary delays do not exceed 15 days, and only unprofitable points are closed. In 2017, the sale of the network continued. In April, TS director Vasily Gusev announced that the network had no plans to completely leave the Yekaterinburg market. However, according to the fmcgural.ru portal, shortly after this statement, he himself left the trading network.

Part of transactions for the sale of Picnic outlets to OOO Veles. This company is the owner of the real estate of the Piknik trading network, its director, according to open data, is the owner of Piknik, Ms. Plotitsina. The bankruptcy lawsuit was filed by Gorod Real Estate Center LLC. According to the representative of the plaintiff, partner of the group of companies "Legal Interests" Anna Chernysheva, after the emergence of legal claims, Veles sold outlets to other retail chains - including Yabloko and Lenta. The bankruptcy lawsuit was filed so that the plaintiff had the opportunity to challenge these transactions and collect the debt.

In June, the local network "", which also gradually closed its stores for more than a year. Experts note that the reduction in the number of outlets of regional retailers is a natural process. It becomes more difficult for them to compete with federal companies that have begun active expansion into the regions: large players buy products in large quantities from major manufacturers and receive discounts for volume, receive support at the state level. However, according to the president of the trading network "", the consumer only benefits from growing competition.

Buyers do not see any drama in the departure of regional retailers, they see competition, a lot of stores that open at every turn, and for them this is a plus, because retailers in the competition have shrunk to the lowest possible prices, - Mr. Mr Ogloblin.
