How it was

Right on New Riga (well, maybe a kilometer from the highway) stands, as they say, the largest garden center in Europe. Surely all mother farmers know him very well. But those who are not farmers have never heard of him. But in vain. Because the garden center has headed for a place for family vacations and has acquired:

- zoo;



- decent playground;



With trampolines, a sandbox full of toys (why can't such sandboxes be made in the city?! After all, nothing complicated).



On weekends from 10 to 15 they promise animation, but I was on a weekday. The site is fenced.

- chocolate farm(was not inside)
- shops;
- cafe with veranda;
- a pair of pelicans living in the depths of the nursery.

All this - at the entrance to the HUGE territory of the nursery, which looks like you want "this chestnut right now, I'll take it to the apartment."

Sounds so enthusiastic, you need to add a fly in the ointment.

What did not like:

1. about the zoo. This is certainly not a zoo. Birds, llamas, raccoons, etc. live at the entrance rather for the entourage. You can see them up close, but there is nothing to do next to them for more than 20 minutes;
2. the exit from the playground is right on the road along which golf carts scurry. Perhaps it was worth opening the entrance somehow;
3. you have to make a reservation. I was without a child, so all of the above was seen, firstly, without testing on a real consumer, and secondly, quite superficially (I only spent 30 minutes on the spot).

Result of checking: If you are breathing unevenly to the Smaragd thujas, if you want to go somewhere unusual on the weekend, if the child wants to chase a peacock walking on the playground, here is a tip for you. The place looks very decent and inspiring.

After the Premier shopping center, exit Novaya Riga and keep to the far right lane. Along the way, even a homemade sign was hung up. I'm sure you'll find it...

True, the find did not particularly inspire me. This is a large sign near the center, but it is small. And most importantly, mostly seedlings. Apparently, not bad, but who knows :)).

The only thing is that by May the center will most likely be filled additionally, but in general, nothing remarkable.

By the way, you can go back through the Premier shopping center.

2 Garden center near Unimall shopping center

I saw the sign for a long time and drove by old memory. I just couldn't find anything here. Apparently, the market is being removed for the winter season and now only filling is going on ....

Somewhere from the beginning of May, a large garden furniture store will open. There was a good selection last year.

So, if you suddenly need to buy outdoor furniture complete with a couple of fir trees, Hoff Garden Furniture Store is the right place :)

It doesn't make much sense to describe the route map, we left New Riga to Unimoll and here you are.

3 Garden center at the Baltic construction market

Found the center construction market"Baltic" by chance. I was sure that there must be something for gardeners in such a large construction market as the Baltic in New Riga.

What's good, there are more than two outlets here. It feels like about six merchants in spacious areas. Basically - seedlings of all kinds and stripes.

So there is a chance that this is one of the best places in New Riga in terms of price and choice.

I can't really judge the prices. I chose a couple of currant bushes for 800 rubles, but I refused the offer to buy bush raspberries for 1,500 rubles. I dug up a little later from a neighbor on the site for free.

As well as near the Premier, it's scarce with related products. At one point, insect control products, some fertilizer and flower seeds are laid out. Only the essentials.

Frankly upset the inner road - broken to the limit. And most importantly - very dirty, in rainy weather it is not very pleasant to climb.>

4 Garden center on Ilinskoe highway near Gribanovo

After all this, I decided to stop by the familiar center on Ilyinsky Highway. I appreciated his time for his excellent selection of seeds for lawns. Was the only place that sold MasterLine seeds.

The choice of seedlings is clearly thinner than in the Baltics, but related products are presented very well. It turned out that there are some seeds here, and the set of pest and disease control products is clearly wider than in Obi or on the Baltic market. Aktelik, found, by the way, right here.

You can get here along the Ilyinskoye highway, having moved off in the area of ​​​​the turn to Nakhabino / Iltinskoye.

5 Garden center Imperial Garden on New Riga

But back to New Riga. If the Baltic with its broken road does not suit you, then the next place is the Imperial Garden garden center in the area of ​​the Agalarov flyover.

I will not say that this is a direct imperial garden center. The same lawn grass as everywhere else - only the economy class from Trifolium. As if nothing else exists.

But of course the center greatly outperforms the rest eats. Everything here is just done the way it should be in places where they sell goods from 1000 rubles. for a unit. A small but clean parking lot has been made, the paths are not filled with dirt. There is a small cafe, the sale of birds has been turned into a small attraction for children and not only.

In general, everything is done simply neatly and tastefully. But apparently in the market of garden centers, this is still the imperial class :)) But, the cost of a couple of large-sized vehicles is sometimes comparable to the price of a new car. It's all strange...

Prices are obviously higher in the Imperial Garden than in the Baltics. Looks like the cost of parking is included in the bill.

If budget constraints are not critical, then all sorts of gizmos for the garden can be bought here. Irrigation equipment, professional garden tools, etc.

There is no particular point in going here for fertilizers, seeds, means of struggle. Like everywhere else, it sucks.

I didn't go to the center. Photographed from the road. It looks neat, but the area is small. There are seedlings and large plants. Apparently positions itself as a competitor of the Imperial Garden, but did not check it :))

You can just walk along the rows, look at the assortment. Planting material of all sizes is presented here: from babies to huge large-sized ones. There are herbaceous plants, and water, and garden accessories, and soils.

Always a pleasure to visit "Imperial Garden". Every time I am surprised how well everything is organized here! Every visitor feels welcome. In everything, even in small things, thoughtfulness is visible, starting with clear pointers to road signs and convenient parking. I have already said about electric cars. This is a special attraction. The manager will drive with you through the rows of plants, choosing the right one. Barcodes are read immediately and an invoice is generated. If the weather is bad, you will be given an umbrella, jacket and warm boots. When you return to the office, an invoice will be ready within minutes. You will be offered tea and coffee. Purchased plants can be delivered to you, or they can even be planted.

It is good to invite customers here. Many of them, until they see plants from their own eyes, have no idea what it is. And here you can conduct a tour for them and show everything. It's unlikely that anything will happen. It seems that everything is here! And as experience and long-term observations show, customers are more willing to spend money on planting material when they see it with their own eyes. The name of the plant and its size in the estimate is not at all the same as seeing it alive, touching it, smelling it ...

Of course, these are all nice things, but the main thing is the quality of the planting material and its price. There are no complaints about the quality. Prices are also quite marketable. Especially if you get some kind of discount for services to plant suppliers... It's no secret that we, like many other landscapers, try to buy plants for our objects directly from nurseries. It's profitable. But sometimes something is missing, or you need to make landings urgently. Then I come to "Imperial Garden" and make a purchase. Next season I want to try to place an order with them for the delivery of planting material from Europe. There is a feeling that it may not be more expensive (including delivery, etc.) than buying it yourself ...

On the territory of the garden center there is where you can see different breeds chickens and even real peacocks.

The photographs for this report were taken at the end of October. Now there are few small items left for sale. Large-sized crops are brought in and immediately dug in with peat. They can be bought and planted all winter.

I would also like to note the responsiveness of the guys from Imperial Garden. When this year I had to design stands at the Flowers exhibitions, first at the All-Russian Exhibition Center, then at Crocus Expo, I was horrified.
