PG: Anna, tell me, what film projects are currently “in the Top”, what are they filming most often?

A.F.: oh... I want to sigh heavily answering this question. Unfortunately, the film industry in Russia is at a rather low level. What is being filmed is what is in demand by the majority of our culturally undeveloped population. Without going into the details of upbringing and pedagogy, I will say that people’s consciousness today is clogged with low-quality TV series and low-budget films with a simple plot, thereby preventing cultural development our country. There are not enough funds allocated for expensive and high-quality projects, so this is a difficult time for our cinema. But we do not despair and try to choose projects following our inner instinct, while taking care of main goal cinema and theatrical art - high education and creation!

A.F.: I organized my agency because I adore cinema, great music and everything related to my own creativity. So, following the dictates of my heart and a new desire to know the film industry from the inside, I am doing all this. And not at all for the sake of money, but out of love for new art. PG: Anna, please tell us how future actors get to your agency?

A.F.: Many of them finish new school acting at our Moscow agency, where an experienced teacher can spot the so-called nuggets, who subsequently replenish the base of the Freshfilms acting agency. However, this is far from the only way to our agency. We are visited by students, graduates of theater universities or already famous actors who found our website in Russian Internet and were invited by our agents. And, of course, actors who are lucky enough to act in films from our agency, in turn, recommend us to their colleagues. Most often it happens this way. As for the "Stars", they come to the agency at my personal invitation or on the recommendation of one of our familiar directors.

PG: On what terms do you work with actors, who do you rely on?

A.F.: We try to choose “Exclusive Actors”, as a rule, young ones, since the new actor is new profession for life, and the sooner you start, the more time for self-realization. First of all, these are the actors playing the main roles - the so-called heroes and heroines. And when selecting, I pay attention to talent and charisma, even if it sounds rather trivial! As for working conditions, there are actors who have signed exclusive contracts with us - only we have the right to represent them on the film market. Of course, the new actor has his own percentage, and the agency has his own from each film project. These actors are either established or rising "Stars". We also work with the rest of the actors on a commission basis.

PG: Please tell us how film auditions are conducted, what happens there?

A.F.: Castings for films rarely take place live. Most often, after the agency receives a script, our agent himself begins to select possible candidates based on the Russian list of listed characters and their ages. Photos of the selected actors are sent to the casting director (i.e., the new person responsible for film casting), and he, in turn, calls the actors he likes to audition for different directors...

PG: How does the agency’s big work with different directors begin?

A.F.: formally - from that high moment when he approves our actor for the role. But in fact, the agency begins to work with the Russian director already at the moment of constant search for actors for a new project.

PG: So, the agency is conducting a casting. What's next? Does it protect the interests of the actor when concluding an agreement with the central film studio? In the big process of working on a big film?

A.F.: Of course! The agency provides complete legal support new contract and rider for the actor. And, of course, always on his side. The progress of a new project is monitored by the Russian manager responsible for it, and in any case of disagreement, he turns to a good agency lawyer.

PG: Does the agency conduct any trainings, meetings with its members, or is it just a “Base” from which potential “stars” are selected at the right time?

A.F.: Of course they do. In the agency's training room, meetings with recognized "Stars" are held every two to three weeks as part of our big project“the theory of new success”, where artists share their secrets with everyone and conduct trainings for beginners….
