And the funniest thing is that each participant must do this in accordance with the name of his team: wolves move on all fours, and bunnies move by jumping, but they jump from a sitting position, so that both one team and the other have equal chances to win. victory.

Important: the distance from start to finish should be short so that the competition is simple and brings only joy to the children.

And the rest of the children will generously throw balls at him to the cheerful children's laughter.

Before the game, the host explains that the balls should not be thrown very hard and as high as possible.

Each child can take turns playing the role of “The Wolf Who Catches Eggs”. At the end the results are summed up. Whoever catches at least one “egg” is awarded a sweet candy.

Competition "Who is more"

The presenter invites the children to remember as many characters from the cartoon “Well, Just Wait!” as possible. This is a Pig, a Cat, a Lion, a Rhinoceros, etc. The child who names the most characters receives a sweet prize.

40 years ago, a cartoon was released on the screens of the country, which became a classic of domestic animation “Well, wait a minute.”

He retreated, and the endless pursuit of the Wolf after the Hare and vice versa continued, to the joy of adults and children.

Report by Maria Torlopova.

There are queues at the Soyuzmultfilm film studio. Schoolchildren come to see how their favorite cartoons were created.

"Well, wait a minute!" - the first Soviet animated series - chase, released since 1968, one episode per year. We tried to draw “for events.” In 1980, a series about the Moscow Olympics was published, and in 1985, Alla Pugacheva’s songs were sung by the Wolf and the Hare along with the whole country.

Alla Pugacheva, People's Artist of the USSR: "Of course, I laughed a lot - it was a very touching number, funny, - in smoke, as expected, - in a white robe! I was grateful that even the wolves and hares did not ignore it."

"Well, wait a minute!" It was also called an encyclopedia of Soviet reality because many of the details in the cartoon were copied exactly from real prototypes. The Ostankino tower is almost like a real one, and even the corridors of the television center are the same as in reality.

True, then the creators began to be accused that Soviet reality was copied from American idea, - very much resembles “Well, wait a minute!” the story of the famous Tom and Jerry. Alexander Kurlyandsky is still upset by such questions.

Alexander Kurlyandsky, screenwriter of the cartoon “Well, wait a minute!”: “I’m already tired of answering! At that time, we didn’t see any “Tom and Jerry”, or American animation in general, except for “Snow White”. But all stunt films, they are a little similar , because situations repeat themselves."

Unlike our heroes, the overseas Tom and Jerry do not talk, but only squeal slightly with delight, pain or fear. And quotes and songs from the Wolf and the Hare are still popular.

Anatoly Papanov and Klara Rumyanova became " folk wolf and the Hare." Therefore, when Papanov died in 1987, the creators were sure that there would be no more continuation. But old voice-over recordings were found in the archive. And new episodes were drawn “to suit the voice.” Now that Vyacheslav Kotenochkin is no longer alive, a continuation It was filmed by his son, Alexey.

Alexey Kotenochkin, director of the 19th and 20th episodes of the cartoon “Well, wait a minute!”: “The task was such that if some small child who watches “Well, wait a minute!” for the first time, well, they bought him a cassette, let’s say, or disc, and now he watches the old episodes, and then the new ones without stopping, so that he doesn’t notice the difference.”

Children really don't notice the difference. And 40 years later, the kids enthusiastically look at the screen, vying with each other to discuss who is who, and sincerely feel sorry for either the Wolf or the Hare. And they laugh.

50 years ago the most beloved cartoon of three generations was born.

It’s hard to believe, but the Wolf has been chasing the Hare for half a century, and no one wants the end of this story. About the phenomenon and its authors - in the anniversary story about the leader of the domestic animation rating.

“There’s something about this...”

The birthday of the long-lived animated series is March 3, 1968. It was with this date that its authors associated the beginning of work on the “cartoon of the century.” The idea of the “story of the pursuit” of the quirky Hare by the unlucky Wolf belongs to three Moscow comedians: Felix Kamov, Alexander Kurlyandsky and Arkady Khait. Talented young people successfully composed funny stories for pop numbers and popular Moscow skit shows at that time, when a mutual friend, the author of Cheburashka Eduard Uspensky, brought them to the Soyuzmultfilm film studio.

We started with the cartoon magazine “Veselaya Karusel”: it was there that the first three-minute issues about the Hare and the Wolf appeared. In place of the beloved heroes, there could, by the way, be the Dog and the Cat, the Bear and the Fox, or the Fox and the Rooster.

And these first episodes were not filmed by Eduard Uspensky or the permanent director of “Well, wait a minute!” who soon became involved. Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin (the trio of authors did not know him at that time). The “pilot project” was carried out by animation director Gennady Sokolsky.

The authors liked what they saw, and they suggested continuing the Wolf's pursuit of the Hare. They decided to film three more 10-minute episodes in the same spirit. The main series began with them, directed by Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin. “There’s something in this...” the master said meaningfully when he got acquainted with the idea of the cartoon. And his colleagues treated it as “primitive” storyline with skepticism. But this “primitive” was destined to break popularity records, capturing the hearts of children and adults for all time.

Who was the Wolf based on?

We will immediately reject attempts to find the “original” of the most recognizable cartoon character in Hollywood. No one borrowed this colorful image from the Americans.

Our Wolf is original and unique, although he is endowed with the traits of a personality “seen” in life. The creators of “Well, wait a minute!” specifically inspired the Wolf. weren't looking. He found himself, not suspecting that he would become a “model” for the creative imagination of a director and artist.

The challenge was to make the “bad” hero both disgusting and attractive. If the Wolf is stereotypically “angry and grey”, then it will not arouse interest among the audience, like everything faceless. Kotyonochkin’s hero is a bright personality with a set of characteristics of “negative charm”. For the “Bad Guy” to evoke sympathy, his portrait must be ironic. The wolf in “Well, wait a minute!” - not dangerous, but funny. His bad intentions evoke not so much condemnation as condescension, because in the end one has to feel sorry not for the victim avoiding trouble, but for the hunter suffering from his own tricks.
The “hooligan charm” of the Wolf was endowed by the creative observation of the directors. Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin’s artistic eye somehow caught on to the comical dude: a long-haired guy dressed in hippie fashion with a cigarette in his teeth and a beer belly protruding above the belt of his bell-bottom jeans looked so awkward that he simply asked to be caricatured about his wrong lifestyle.

The director shared his observation with production designer Svetozar Rusakov. And he also had his own idea of such a character. In 1941, Svetozar Kuzmich met the prototype of the future Wolf during an evacuation in Novosibirsk. In the Siberian cold, Rusakov was waiting for his turn at the cinema, and some impudent guy unceremoniously pushed aside the crowd and got in over their heads. “Sorry, gentleman, where are you going?” the artist reprimanded the defeated trickster. “What did you call me?” the bully asked threateningly, ready to rush into a fight. The image of a hooligan that stuck in my memory served as the “raw material” for interpretation in the work on the Wolf.

In parallel with the development of the appearance of the characters, a search was underway for actors to voice them. At first they were going to entrust Vladimir Vysotsky to play the Wolf. He was excited about the idea of dubbing, but the artistic council balked - an odious candidate, they say... From Vysotsky in “Well, wait a minute!” All that remained was the “artistic whistle”: it was he who whistled his own song “About a Friend” from the movie “Vertical” while the Wolf was climbing the rope onto the balcony to the Hare.

The remaining episodes were voiced by Anatoly Papanov on behalf of the Wolf. The actor became so familiar with his wheezing and barking hero that he received the comic nickname “Honored Wolf of the USSR.” Anatoly Dmitrievich did not take offense at his ironic colleagues, confirming on occasion that he thought “Well, wait a minute!” his best job. For her sake, he even sometimes neglected the stage of the Satire Theater, where he was obliged to perform performances based on work book, for which he repeatedly received directorial beatings from Valentin Pluchek. Papanov played the Wolf until the end of his life and even... after his death: in 1987 the artist passed away, and the next 17th and 18th episodes were voiced by a montage of recordings of the artist’s voice that remained in the archives of the sound studio.

And the Hare in the cartoon speaks in the voice of Klara Rumyanova, a famous dubbing actress who, over 30 years of work in Soviet animation, voiced more than three hundred favorite cartoon characters, including the Kid in the cartoon about Carlson and Cheburashka in the story about the crocodile Gena. The director of “Well, Just Wait!” did not see an alternative to Klara Mikhailovna: Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin immediately announced at Soyuzmultfilm that he was not going to try anyone else for the role of the Hare.

The remaining characters were voiced by Gennady Khazanov (9th issue, episode at the television center) and Vladimir Soshalsky (15th issue, Behemoth).

Education and politics

Not all Soyuzmultfilm officials liked “raising the younger generation using an immoral example.” Such an “asocial” type as the Wolf could raise the question in each episode: “What do you teach children?” He smokes, and fights, and spits, and misbehaves, and is mean. The authors had to explain to adult uncles what was clear to a child: good triumphs over evil in the cartoon, the “bad guy” is left in the cold, and the moral is that bad deeds are punishable. The censors were convinced by the fact that the bully Wolf was amenable to re-education. And if so, let him play tricks already: seven troubles - one answer.

As a result, the bright and controversial hero of the children's cartoon became a favorite character even among members of the Politburo. True, they also sometimes tried to be vigilant. For example, after watching the episode where the Wolf in the museum hides in the coffin of Ramses II, the official in charge was worried whether the apolitical cartoon would spoil international relations between the USSR and Egypt.

And another time, politics made itself felt in the story of the oblivion of one of the “fathers” “Well, wait a minute!” Felix Kamov. In the 70s, the creator of the first seven episodes of the cartoon decided to emigrate to Israel. The famous writer and cinematographer was immediately released from work and deleted from the credits, although they were in no hurry to release him abroad. To leave the Union, Kamov had to write a dozen applications and go on hunger strike three times. But the audience did not know these details: the name of the author disappeared from the cartoon - and that’s all.

"Wretched bad taste"

Few people know that there were also television episodes of “Well, wait a minute!” in the creative association "Ekran". Three episodes of the cartoon were directed by Yuri Butyrin in 1980-81. The wolf in them was voiced by dubbing artist Vladimir Ferapontov (he also sang the song of the crocodile Gena in the cartoons “Cheburashka” and “Shapoklyak”), the script was written by Alexander Kurlyandsky, the music was written by Viktor Kuprevich, Evgeny Krylatov and Alexey Rybnikov. But the star names in the credits did not save the TV version of the cartoon from devastating criticism from those who were not involved in creative process Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin: he called the TV episodes “Well, wait a minute!” "poor bad taste."

Unfortunately, almost the entire original crew left us. Anatoly Papanov and Klara Rumyanova, Arkady Khait and Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin passed away. But the director was right when he once predicted that “Well, just wait!” will not end while the Wolf is chasing the Hare. “They will definitely appear on the screen again!” said Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin about his favorite characters.

And so it happened. Over twenty-odd years of work, the cartoon, conceived in three episodes, grew to 18 issues with 300 thousand drawings, and after the death of the director, his son continued his work. The 19th and 20th episodes were filmed at the Christmas Films and Pyaterochka studios by production designer Alexey Kotyonochkin and director Vladimir Tarasov. The new generation is also involved in dubbing latest issues: The Hare in two episodes speaks in the voice of the young actress Olga Zvereva, the Wolf speaks in the voice of the parodist Igor Khristenko. The artists were not required to imitate the voices of famous predecessors; they simply had to reflect the characters being voiced.

Cultural value

According to a survey by the fund " Public opinion"(2014) in first place in popularity among cartoons of all times was “Well, wait a minute!” Every fifth respondent named it their favorite cartoon - 20% of respondents voted for this cartoon, while its closest rivals received only 7% and 5% of votes.

The wolf took selfies when it was not yet mainstream! ;)

Why we love this animated series, everyone will answer in their own way. But everyone who chose “Well, just wait!” favorite, will certainly be united by nostalgia for the bright past. In this cartoon we find pleasant evidence of a lost life, where people spent their leisure time in museums and exhibitions, parks and beaches, circuses and stadiums, camp sites and cruises. An attractive feature of the cartoon is its “documentary” nature. This is not an abstract forest with animals and allegories, but a witty “social cross-section” of the life of a society in which there was a lot of good.
